Art Exhibit: Creative Fibre Guild

Explore the newest creations from the local Marlborough Creative Fibre Guild, part of the New Zealand Spinning, Weaving and Woolcrafts Society Inc. This Guild unites individuals passionate about fibre crafts and textile arts, including spinners, weavers, knitters, dyers, flax workers, felters, crocheters, and other artisans.

The exhibition will highlight the Guild members' impressive creative skills. They employ various techniques and materials, such as hand knitting, machine knitting, weaving, raranga, paper art, basketry, spinning, felting, leather art, dyeing techniques, free art forms, embroidery, crochet, and tatting. Many members are skilled in multiple fibre techniques, leading to innovative combinations. Using these methods and materials, our members produce freestanding fibre art, wall hangings, jerseys, shawls and scarves, coats and jackets, baskets, kete and other raranga forms, korowai, fabric, cushions and curtains, tapestries, jewelry, floor rugs, and lace.
